Great contribution.

First, I don't know who Ben is or why you think he sucks, or why we should care.
Secondly, if you're talking about Bend, you probably should not have posted it in the PORTLAND forum.

Well. . .

You're not going to hurt MY feelings with this thread. I don't like Bend, either. Husband had a chance to move there for a job transfer in the 90's and I put my foot down on that one. Too secluded for me, and I don't like snow.

But. . . Lots of people like it for the reasons WE don't. To each his own.

I thought it was going to be about Bernanke and wondered what the PDX connection was going to be.

I thought it was about the movie from the 70s about a rat. Michael Jackson had a song about him.

Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you, my friend, will see
You've got a friend in me
(you've got a friend in me)

Ben, you're always running here and there
You feel you're not wanted anywhere
If you ever look behind
And don't like what you find
There's one thing you should know
You've got a place to go
(you've got a place to go)

What a difference a D makes!

It's fine for a long weekend for skiing or camping, but yeah, living there full time is for people with half their teeth and pregnant at 15.
