L.,
It's just an early indication that with Portland's vast population increase in the last ten years, it's becoming more and more right wing and conservative.
Portland has finally reached the tipping point where the new residents won't put up with the silliness of the last decade.

BTW, I second "The Gun Room" and "Shooters Service".

Awww c'mon Mike that last swipe was kinda mean... but I think you are wrong. In fact I know some recent newcomers that are even more to the left than I am. There will always be a balance.

Let's turn up the volume or let the thread die away, but I for one am bored silly with the anemic progress to date. So here are my suggestions for some sure fire heart rate spiking topics to get local blood boiling. Here goes...

1. I'm Moving to Portland Next _________, How Can I Opt Out of the Recycling Program?

2. I'm Moving to Portland Next _________, but I don't have a job, can I have yours?

3. I'm Moving to Portland This __________, Anyone Know How I Can Contact Tonya?

4. I ________ Kicker Checks!

5. WTF Is A Kicker Check??!!

6. WTF Is Tonya Harding??!!

7. Portland Street Kids, Yum

8. Prius or Outback, Outback or Prius... hmmm, I think I'll buy a Silverado!

I could keep going, Portlanders are so thin skinned its like shooting sacred cows in a barrel. Nothing to it. Next time you want to raise hackles try one of these sure fire converstation starters. Guns are so 80's.

I am not sure what you are all about, I just wanted to know about purchasing firearms in Portland since I will be moving there in July...

I've gotten into pro-gun vs. pro gun-control (notice carefully how I don't state my position as being "anti-gun" "guns should be outlawed", but that's always how it's interpreted the pro-gun caucus, which is always fun...) arguments on here before, but what's the point? It's a topic like pro-choice vs. pro-life where people's opinions wont change no matter how blustery or well-executed the debate gets.
