With "full service" the attendant is expected to pump your gas and that's all. On rare occasion the station will make you go inside to pay instead of allowing the attendant to pay at the pump for you.

On ever rarer occasion, the attendant will decide to wash your windshield or ask if you'd like your oil check (it happened to me once) and IMO that definitely deserves a tip (a couple of bucks is enough).

I was sooooooooo happy when I first read that, I can already tell I'll be mapping out the stations where they leave you alone.

Most likely you'll get into an argument about it, doubly so if you have a car and not a pickup truck. In rural areas most gas station attendants are aware of that, but in the suburbs where Gas Station attendants don't also work part time around diesel equipment, they may have some issues.

I have driven a diesel pickup for many years and the way it usually goes is that I drive up , tell them how much I want, they put the nozzle in and start the pump. I then say I'll take care of the rest of it. I have only once or twice been told no.

... I still don't understand why you'd want to pump your own gas. Makes no sense to me at all when someone is there to do it for you.

I love how in those videos the woman does it no problem and is out of there in 45 seconds, and 3 guys are completely clueless!
