the fact that a 5 minute activity can easily turn into 15 depending on whether the "fast" guy is working is reason enough to let me pump my own gas. If it takes me an extra 20m a week to wait for some HS dropout to pump my gas it costs me over 100$ of billable time. I have no issue pumping my own gas and I do a far better job of it. I've lived here for less than a year and had no less than 3x that they left my gas cover open. I've taken to doublechecking when driving away now. I know I never had that issue when I did all that "extra work"

The first time I visited Oregon I pumped our own gas, and wondered why other people had attendants. Can't you get fined for doing that? Good thing no one got irritated
