So, how many of you guys that think this is silly actually live in "P-town" and drink the water that comes from this reservoir?
Just curious.

For the record, I live in Portland and think this is a waste of money.

I see what you did there.

To address your first post: "things must be different in Colorado"....water is such a precious commodity in the drier states, I'd have expected the guy to be crucified.

A couple of questions:

- Don't they filter and/or purify the water between the source (reservoir) and the endpoint?
- What happens if another person does "their business" in it after it's refilled?

It sounds like a really vulnerable and inefficient system for maintaining and supplying water. Who designed it, Bozo the Clown?

Yes, but look at all the free publicity we got on CNN!

Seriously - yes, this is a waste, but this is proverbial drop in the bucket (so much for being serious) compared to a typical week at City Hall... Office of Equity, anyone?

I agree, what a sad state of affairs. Allowing the ‘yuk’ factor to influence water policy makes about as much sense as allowing the ‘ick’ factor determine social policy.

The "yuck" factor to me is the gross overreaction. Absolutely nuts to drain an entire reservoir over about a cup of pee.

What about birds flying over and dropping their waste in it? Sounds like they are going to need cameras keeping an eye on the air too. Maybe employ dozens of sentries to watch the area 24/7? :-)

Looks like lots of stuff gets dumped into this resevoir; interesting items found when it is drained.
