Try the Walla-Walla onion rings at Burgerville with a raspberry shake and then you will see why a PNW chain does so well. They support local farmers and dairies and use fresh, seasonal ingredients. That shake is many calories, fat and carbs but sometimes you just to splurge. Better than drugs.

But where's the fun in that?!. Honestly, I rarely get the shake but when I do, I go for it! Well, not totally because I stick with the small or medium but def. get the whipped cream. So good!

One of my grade school friend's Farm is now a Burgerville Supplier. Very happy for him.

That's good to hear. I love supporting a company like Burgerville while I sip away on the best shake ever.

Another plug for Burgerville- their commitment to compostable and recycled packaging makes me feel like a better consumer while I munch my Walla- Walla onion rings!

Well, we recently had Sonic invaders... Surprisingly that's one chain in weak financial straits, as though someone oversucked the money out (loaded it up with debt that would be paid off by the great product). A lot of that goes on in America (and some worldwide too).

Some chains fit in better than others - Trader Joe's, for instance, has been pretty popular because it was a good fit with upscale "foodie" culture already here. Doughnuts, not so much.

I just noticed that they're opening a spot at Washington Square.
