Default Pizza

Here's an interesting question for all you Pizza lovers. What's your favorite spot in Portland for good pie? Any veggie Pizza's? I know NY and Chicago have the best Pizza'a in the nation but I'm hoping that Portland, with some of the Transplants have brought a bit of Italian culture to the region. What can I say, I LOVE homemade Pizza So what's your fave spot?

I think they have the best reputation in the country, but Portland has a couple of places that will match them on Pizza.

I just returned from Portland and had a large from Apizza Scholls on Hawthorne. Probably the best pizza I've had (three kinds of cheese and charred bottom crust!).

There is Mississippi Pizza on the street of the same name. It's a cool little place to hang out, with a comfy back room with a bar where you can play board games until your pizza arrives. The pizza is good, but not cheap. However, they will knock 3 bucks off the price if you order a pie without cheese (I'm vegan). I went there with 2 friends and we got a large veggie pizza and a pitcher of beer for about 30 bucks. You can also buy single slices of whatever pizzas they have prepared up front.

I was personally soured from ever returning to Mississippi Pizza after accidentally leaving an expensive backpack with all of my bicycle lights in it hanging on my chair. In the 30 seconds it took me to go out to my bike and realize I had forgotten my bag, it disappeared within the restaurant. I asked all the staff if they had seen the backpack, but no luck. I never went back there again.

Thank you everyone. I will have to try Mississippi Pizza, Hot Lips and Apizza. They all sound mouth watering. It's good to know that Portland has some good Pizza spots.

I was in Portland for a few days last fall and we stopped at a place called Bella Faccia that was very good. They had vegetarian/vegan styles too. Bella Faccia Pizzeria

I haven't been to the PNW yet, but I have been doing my homework, and I've seen that the Portland area has a few Little Caesars locations. Man, I grew up on Little Caesars back in Michigan, and IMHO, as fast-food pizzas go -- you know, the world of Papa John's, Domino's, etc. -- their pies are simply unmatched!
