Thank you for your kind words, I do plan on having a great trip and taking many many pictures and so does my daughter. I can not tell you how excited she is to ride a bike in cooler weather she keeps begging to take her bike on the plain because she wants to take her bike and not rent one haha. I know for sure we are planning to visit the beach, downtown, farmers market, state fair in salem and houses. Any other areas you would like pictures of ?

I chose our natural beauty. I could do without so much rain and there are some pretty weird people here. Having lived in LA and San Diegothe city vibe in Portland pales a bit

Having left, although I visit often, I miss: PSU Farmer's Market, Powell's, New Seasons, about 10 favorite restaurants, my no-effort garden, light rail in Fareless Square (whatever it is called now), easy access to PDX.

Still not missing mid-Oct through April weather, though.

I went with "city vibe" because of Powell's, the food cart pods, the microbrews, and the variety of neighborhoods like Mississippi, Sellwood, and Multnomah Village. Contrary to popular belief, there ARE a lot of cities with great natural beauty comparable to Portland - though the Columbia River Gorge is unique. And I could definitely do without Portland's winters. A little (or a lot) more snow and blue skies in winter would make Portland just about perfect.

That is AWESOME! Another great thing about Portland... fun, quirky things hiding behind every corner, waiting to be discovered.
