Exclamation Warning - this may break your heart

Here's a video about a young Tigard boy who has a life-threatening illness. His family and friend volunteer to have fund-raising walk to help him fight his cancer. The video is set to music by Tom Petty. He "beat" his original diagnosis of cancer, but the cure gave him a different form of the disease! BTW - he is also a "Wish Kid" with the Oregon chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation. They granted him his wish a few months ago and the story was covered by some of the Portland television stations.

Cancer treatment is tough. Sometimes treatment has very serious side effects. I think parents want every effort to effect a cure, and often the children of older adults want the same.

For a child, so long as the treatment doesn't amount to torture I would give it a try. As an older adult quality of life, not life itself, would be my goal.

This is an incredibly amazing story. My heart goes out to this kid. BTW - if you want to help Make A Wish, you can donate your air miles. That's a big help to them. Their phone number is 503.292.2280.
