Hello, I've been considering reloacting to Scappoose Oregon because of the small town setting, but im going to work in Portland is the commuting ok?

Can be rough, certain times of the day...45 minutes minimum.. and plenty of speed traps to keep ya honest. Easy drive though.

I live 8 minutes off Highway 30 in Scappoose. It takes me 37 minutes to get to my work in NW Portland (off NW 23rd and Lovejoy) door to door. I don't work regular hours so I might make better time, but I must say it is a nice drive without many stops - of course until I get into Portland. When we first moved here seven years ago I worked a regular shift 7:30 - 4:00 and it still only took me that long, but I am not sure now since the area is really starting to grow.

We saw a great-looking house right on the river in Scappoose, on St. Helen's Road. What's the story on Scappoose? We're retirees and think living on the river would be fun.
