In Texas, homeowners get a discount on their property taxes if they live in the home and are over 65 years old.

Not here, the 'discount' happens when you have an older home and the tax valuation is significantly less than market value. Years ago, after a previous boom, citizens passed a law limiting the increase of assessed value.

Other programs impacting the aged is that available to low income owners to pay a reduced amount and have the balance paid at the time of the sale of the house. In practical terms, a lien on the house. Recently I heard of a program where people to rent a house to a WWII vet or WWII widow/widower get a rebate on their property taxes. I don't know the details, I think it is (or was) a State program.

Default Hand written letters to buy your house.

I recently bought a new home in Sacramento CA. I've received two of these letters within three months of moving in. The first one was a hand-write and turned out to be a mail drop box company (I used a street view application to see the address). The second one was on corporate letterhead and their web address is here Cutting Edge Solutions, LLC The web site has a video of a man asking you to sell your house. They have listings right on the site.

Just Visiting From Sacramento CA.

Ciao
