I'm from another state but I'm curious as to what location the 503 is in? Also, is there a huge asian population there? The reason I ask this is because a friend of mine is trying to talk me into going with her in November to visit an asian friend of hers. I would love to get out of the south for a few days and experience something new!

Just curious. Thanks!

The 503 area code is the portland and salem areas, but not anything further. The majority of the state (in terms of area) is 541. The majority of the population is 503, however.

Oregon area codes: 503, 541, and 971 as an overlap.

Washington area codes: 206, 425, 253, 360, 509, and a 564 overlap.

What is really interesting is the youth culture is identifying geographic areas by area code, both in conversaton and in song. Such as, "I'm in the 425". Another new trend in our discourse.

503 also includes the north coast and Coast Range:
