So...

I wanted to post about some more places I really like. I finally got to Syun in Hillsboro and they definitely have the best sushi around here IMHO.

Also had some great food at Red Star (chicken and dumplings), A Cena, Brasserie Montmartre (amazing frites), Little Bird, and Laurelhurst Market. I also want to plug a new restaurant that supports live music! Ivories in the Pearl District has an acoustic piano and lots of great jazz - I don't know how many nights a week they have it, but the space is really nice.

We also ate at Blue Hour but wow, those portions are minuscule for that price - I know it's fancy-shmancy but I don't think I'll be going back. Good service though.

Thanks for the reviews. Love reading your recs for places here and there around town The Ivories sounds great for when you just want to chill with a couple friends and a nice cocktail. Can't wait to move back. Summer of 2012!!! *__* Tried to rep ya but I have to spread some around...

I LOVE Brasserie Montmartre. The Happy Hour burger for $5.00 is one of the best burgers I've ever had. Nice ambience, as well.

Yum. I didn't realize they had the burger on the Happy Hour menu! I had the mac n cheese and the frites, carb heaven. Also they have live music several nights a week, mostly Gypsy or Latin jazz with guitar.

Another coupla places we went - Bamboo Sushi (very good) and Sweet Basil for Thai, and the Heathman for New Year's brunch. They make their own chorizo.
