Well, I mowed today with our new mower! Definitely some mud tracks but it looks pretty good! Weeded, too, and hubby cleaned out the gutters. Just thought I'd report for all those who don't live here. The weather has been soooooo nice this weekend.

Mowing? I'd love to get a goat. I hear there is a place here where you can rent them. The goats get fed - even eat blackberry bushes, you get a clipped lawn and free fertilizer.

I agree re: letting lawns go dormant in the summer. They come back just fine after the rains return. The average rainfall in June is only a couple of inches, July here is about .5 inc, Aug., maybe a bit more.. definitely not conducive to great lawns unless you pour on the water.

Of course, the rest of the year... green, green, grow, grow.
