I have been to Portland before but not for long ( I spent most of my time enjoying the rest of the Pacific North-West stunning scenery)and I am really excited about going back there.

I am told it is a great place for Foodies and will in fact at some point start a thread of recommendations for restaurants !

You might want to have a look at number two on this list:

The traffic ***** also.
It's when I see stuff like this that I feel like we should invite people over from other forums (you know, ones who have actually seen what the rest of the country's cities are like) just for their own amusement. This kind of hilarious griping is at least as funny as watching Portlandia.

How exciting for you! I hope you have an amazing time. How long will you be able to stay?

Or perhaps have a slightly more active moderator. Other forums can be pretty quick to close threads on this site.

I did ask 1500 what his ideal city was and got no response. Too bad, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

We're hoping to exchange homes ( the house is about a block from Laurelhurst Park on the East side of the river) for three weeks, possibly four though we will of course be touring around the coast and the stunning mountains as well ! I got my two guidebooks from Amazon today ! And looking for flights of course...

Sidewalks are placed by either the developer or adjacent land owner and maintained by the adjacent land owner.

Forest Park and abutting park lands are the result of several donations by prominent early residents. The City has done a good job maintaining and improving our parks.

The Portland Food Group board is a great place for recommendations on various types of eateries.
