A place for cheap labor for daily pay? Usually filled by poor people or immigrants? Most us cities have a few in downtown, what about portland?

I guess that may have to do, although I don't like the ideas of a work "raffle", its still better then nothing I suppose.. At least I found really cheap storage for my bags, 20$ a month for the first 2 months.. After that its 40$, but hopefully I can have another place to keep my important stuff after 2 months of being there...

All over the place. A lot of them are also temp agencies.

Labor Ready is the one I know of off hand; Labor Ready - Temporary Labor Agency - Temporary Worker They have five locations across Metro.

That'll work.. All I need now is to find a really cheap room to rent when I get there(or b4)!! At this point I'd be willing to rent a large closet(with electric) and a rug!!
