For "Portlandia" Fans
So I had to take my kitty to the vet today. A friend drove me there. While I was waiting in an exam room for the doctor to bring my kitty back from the treatment room, friend came into the exam room with the news that she had seen Carrie Brownstein of "Portlandia" fame in the waiting room picking up a prescription for her pet. Friend didn't hear if it was for a dog or cat or whatever.
The receptionist gushed all over Brownstein including asking her all about the show including "Where is "Portlandia" filmed?"
Brownstein gave her a surprised look and then smiled at my friend. Then the receptionist answered her own question. "Oh I guess it's filmed in Portland isn't it?" Brownstein told her she was correct.
And I missed it! I am not a big fan of the show but I do like Brownstein. So now my claim to fame is I go to the same veterinary clinic as Carrie Brownstein.

It wouldn't be the first show to be filmed somewhere other than where the show's set.
I understand that
Leverage is finally going to set itself in Portland, though it's been filmed here for, like, three years while it's set in Boston. I loved seeing the West Hills backing up the Boston Harbor.
Life, Unexpected which was set in Portland was filmed in Vancouver BC.
