Can I complain? (I'm an outsider, though.) I hate this hot weather. I want the cool weather back. I guess I'm out of luck until October, right?

I don't like it either but cheer up, it will be cooler before October. Although we can have some hot days in September, there will probably be more cool days. August is usually the killer hot month. When I say "killer" it's because for me, anything above 70 is too hot.

I was looking at that. Here in the Upper Mississippi, we're just now getting DOWN to that level. Feels like such a relief. Funny how different things look when you're coming from different angles. Actually, I've experienced 105 in Portland, years ago. But it was so dry it hardly felt like that. Dry is a strange word to use for Portland, but in my experience, the moisture in the Willamette Valley tends to be vertical humidity.

I'm miserable in hot weather on a related topic, what are the reasons behind Portland's sudden climate change on July 5?

What's the reason for any weather change?

I wrote my brother-in-law who has lived there for more than 10 years. He didn't know what people are talking about. Said the weather is warm but fine. For my part, I've been there for temps over 100 (which was a surprise to me since I'd totally spaced out that Portland could have that temperature). But never any humidity problem (except for the vertical kind, of course!)

There are usually reasons for climate phenomena. There are even entire professions based upon the research of this data. Considering that the weather is a common topic, I did not think it entirely out the realm of acceptable conversation to inquire about this subject.
