Broken glass can damage and possibly burst your tires. Looking on the bright side you're actually lucky it happened in your apartment complex. If you burst your tire on the streets or the freeway you would've been in a wee spot of trouble. Which brings me to my next point.

If I were you the first thing I would've done is inspect my tires. Broken glass can lead to bruises, which can eventually catch up to you in the form of a burst tire. At the very least have a mechanic do a visual/physical inspection.

As for the beer bottle, Murphy's Law.

Yeah, there are idiots everywhere. Like on the 4th of July. I was enjoying a great bar-b-que in my neighbor's beautiful backyard in North Portland when her neighbor started shooting off fireworks. Or I should say rockets. a few landed in her backyard very close to us. So much for the crack-down this year on fools who shoot these things off in residential areas.

I know this isn't a beer bottle behind a tire but it is an example of how stuff happens everywhere by thoughtless people who don't give a crap about anyone else.

Years ago they would flatten your tires with an icepick.

When i was 19 living in CA, one morning i came out side, my car was jacked up, two of my tires/wheels were gone.

That same thing (beer bottle inside paper bag under tire) just happened to my tenant in suburban Eureka.! He drives a Mercedes so I thought it was maybe a grudge thing. Idiots are everywhere.
