My 2 year old daughter and I have been here since December and we LOVE it. We've made so many friends and are just having a great time. I've been working way too many hours all year though (no real complaints - would rather too much work than too little!) and finally am having a couple weeks with only a little bit of work (telecommute), so I'm planning a staycation for the next two weeks.

I would love any ideas for activities that would be fun for a toddler. We are open to activities both in town and within a couple hours drive. We did go to Cannon Beach a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.

Thanks so much in advance!

Oregon zoo & children's museum (same parking lot)
Ride the train, get off at the stop, walk thru the rose garden & over to the big play area. Hop back on train to go back to
zoo to finish looking around there.

Omsi

Visit a new park each day

Go to the various farmers markets, they are fantastic in Portland. Saturday @ psu is my fave.

Oakes Park

Thank you all so much! I'm excited to plan out a little itinerary tonight(not to stringent, she is two after all)! We've been to a lot of these spots too. So much to do here. I'm so glad we moved here from Reno.

I just heard about the Mollalla Train Park. It's only open on Sundays May through October but if the tot is into moving machines, it might be fun. Apparently, the train ride is about a 10 minute loop.

I suspect she's still too young for Fort Vancouver but they do have people in costumes.

Don't forget Mommy Matinees at the Kennedy School, Kidopolis in SE, Pump it Up and Sky High in Beaverton, and Isobel's Clubhouse in the Pearl. Friendly House in NW should be opening for the year soon (Tues and Thurs morning playgroups).
