The short sun breaks... only if you are a near a window and free to run outside and enjoy it for a few minutes. I was working outside in Portland few years back and I swore the term sun break must have come from the same mythos as the unicorn. I've had better luck watching for meteors.

July-August... simply stunning.

While it's true that it usually rains up till the Fourth, it's usually drizzle/showers and you'll get a day of sun then maybe two days of on again off again rain with sunbreaks in between.

And at least the sun is high and everything is green again by that time, so it's not so dreary and cold, but it's not "stereotypical" summer weather yet!
Also, the weather in the rest of the country is starting to get crappy by the end of our "summer", and we're still enjoying the nice weather.


PS:
I just looked at my "rain boots".
They aren't exactly kiddy "rain boots", but all my boots are waterproof!
