Senior Organizations in Portland....I would have him apply and become involved in programs that may offer him assistance. Also, do not forget job service. Often there may be some programs that hep displaced workers...He should at least check. I got assistance w/ a grant back once to pay for gas for my job search....it really helped.

Don't forget the unconventional jobs..Landscaping, newspaper delivery, pizza delivery..My son makes over a 100 in tips nightly delivering pizza part time. These are good part time jobs too if he gets back where he wants eventually.
