Can some posters recommend a really good Chinese or Thai restaurant on 82nd?

Thanks!

I've heard good things about Ocean City Seafood and hope to try it soon.

My Chinese neighbor likes HK Cafe at 82nd and Holgate near the Walmart. They have dim sum.

Shenzen is the best I have tried. Ocean City is also pretty good.

I'd say Ocean City for dim sum, and maybe Shenzen for a seafood dinner. Ocean City has good Hong Kong-style food outside of dim sum, but it's much better as a dim sum brunch. The trick though, is to get there early enough to get a table, but be there by the time the best carts roll out. My experience is that if you get there right when they open at 10 am on the weekends, they'll have carts rolling around, but a lot of the best dishes come out after 11 am to noon.

I don't know about Thai on SE 82nd, but for Vietnamese, I'd say Pho Van--it's got a nice location that feels all tropical inside and it's still really good and a good bargain. Skip Pho Hung, the one of SE Powell is much better. HA & VL is good for Vietnamese soup also. For Korean the BBQ and tofu place next to the Fubonn shopping center is good. There's also Beijing Hot Pot, which is a place where you cook you're own meat and veggies in a hot broth.

I bought one of my most notorious junk cars out there on 82nd. I think it has changed since those times.

I don;t know the name of it but some asian coworkers eat at a place at 82nd & Powell in the strip mall on the NW corner. It's an all asian type place. I've been there twice and loved it as well.

Interesting article about how the local community wants to sort of re-brand part of 82nd as the "Jade District".

Great idea if they can pull it off. 82nd has been moving that way for many years. Please dont let it be a schlocky tourist attraction only.
