I agree! Very kind-and believe me even the smallest kindnesses make a huge difference when new to living in a city. Wish we had a thumbs up emoticon.

60 day notice? Hotelleirs (sp?) usually love to take a visitor's money, lol! Only been looking since the weekend but seems like ages. I think I could stay where I am as long as I wanted but I really want to get my own place. Driving me a little nuts living out of suitcase (esp. after being on the road to get here). Keeping faith alive, though.

lol! I just thought I remembered that being a French word for people that ran/managed/owned hotels. But unfortunately I haven't known the language well since I was a kid. Must do something about that.

Here's a VERY cool new resource I found recently:
Portland Classifieds - Oodle.com
it aggregates results from some 75,000 classified ads sources online.
Here's what it shows today under "property for rent":
- Apartments (4,370)
- Homes (1,203)
- Roommates (687)
- Condos (268)
- Vacation & Seasonal (261)
- Commercial (100)
- Mobile Homes (24)
- Other (5)

Thanks to the people who listed rental websites. I may also be moving to Portland next year and these are much appreciated!
