Done it all but your survey is flawed. it asks three questions but only allows one answer.

As an aside, I think the poll is broken. This is what it's currently showing, despite the fact that I (and I imagine others) voted that I've visited all these places-
Have driven to Mount Hood 0 0%
I have never driven to Mount Hood 1 33.33%
Driven to the Columbia Gorge and visited the waterfalls 0 0%
I have never seen the Columbia Gorge 0 0%
Have driven to the scenic Oregon Coast 2 66.67%
I have never driven to the Oregon Coast 0 0

I think a lot of people don't bother traveling because going anywhere risks time and money on a trip you might not end up liking...too much of an overall investment for an unknown reward. However, a movie rental can cost as little as $1 and it only takes a couple hours.

A lot of people aren't voting because they've been to all three and the poll only allows you to vote for one.

If a mod can change this to a multiple choice poll it'll go much better.

If this is true, it's unfortunate. I find a reward in every new place I visit. Even if I don't like it, I find it interesting to think about the factors that make me not like a place. Plus getting there is half the fun.

Sometimes you hear people on these boards saying that there's nothing to see in the deserts of Eastern Oregon. Some people like quiet beauty while others need more stimulation, I suppose.

I've been to all but it only let me answer one. I don't know anyone who hasn't been to all three places.

I made a mistake in creating the poll by not pushing the button that allowed multiple votes but it won't let me change the poll. Sorry.

I grew up In Ptown in the 50's and 60's I went all over the state. I learned to ski on Mt. Hood, we took day trips to the coast all the time, went to the gorge at least twice a year. Once I got my first car (an old VW bug) I was all over the state...went car camping in the bug...LOL plenty of room for a few sleeping bags, big old colman cooler and cook stove and a tent or tarp. My parents hated camping but the min I could I went every chance I got. Boated with friends up and down the Willamette and Columbia. I went to college in Bend and skiied and camped my way around Central and Eastern Oregon. The list is so long I can't even begin to start. There is so much to see and do in Oregon and I miss it big time. My PE class in college was a fly fishing class and we built our own rods...LOL and I learned to fly fish for those yummy mountain trout!

Of course when I grew up in Ptown it was pretty small then and I could ride my bike to the local Alpenrose Dairy and hang out in the pony barn or watch through the windows as they pasturized, seperated cream etc. Our bikes took us all over, even in the rain we were rarely inside.
