Hi,

We are a professional couple with a young child wanting to move to Portland.

1- What are the best neighborhoods for us?
2- Which neighborhoods have the best schools?

Thank you in advance!

Where will you be working?

'Best schools' is a tough call as of a student's academic success is the result of parental and peer influence.

Now if you want the name of our highest rated public-private school it is Riverdale.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
We work from home. Commuting to work is not a consideration.
And yes by best I meant highest rated public schools.

You will not be able to purchase a home in the Riverdale School District with that budget and finding a single family dwelling in that price range in the Lincoln High School enrollment area would be a challenge.

I suggest you look at the Westview High School enrollment area (Beaverton School District). Lots of parents there work for Intel.

There's also a lot of high rated schools in other parts of Portland too. The Grant cluster and Cleveland cluster are also good (not just Lincoln). Neighborhoods you may like include Beaumont, Alameda, Irvington, Sellwood, West Moreland, etc. It really depends if you're wanting a suburban or a more urban environment. And a house or a condo or?

Thanks!

I just looked up Riverdale/ Lincoln and the zip codes came up as 97219/97205.
Trulia is showing 40 listings in my price point in Riverdale and 1 listing in Lincoln.

Are my zip codes correct?

Thank you, that is very helpful.
We are looking for a house. We love Water views so that would be a bonus.
