I am looking for a small rural property within 30 - 40 minute commute of the Portland airport, does that exist? Looking for 1 -2 acres for around $300,000.

Try www.rmls.com put in your acreage, price and desired County, probably Clackamas. What kind of riding do you do? Wilsonville / Sherwood is a great rural community, lots of horses. Get as much acreage as you can 1-2 really isn't big enough for horse keeping.

Maybe across the river in East Vancouver to Camas area. Possibly Eastern side of Gresham towards Sandy/Boring in the Urban Growth Boundary area in unincorporated Multnomah and Clackamas Counties.

We have 1 paint horse right now and my wife rides western. We just need enough for maybe 2 horses. What is the commute like from Camas?

The commute from Camas isn't too bad to the airport. You can just head over I-205 and you're right there. The trouble would be more on the Washington side - I don't know what traffic on 14 is like through Camas. Another option would be out I-84 past Troutdale in Corbett or the like. Heading east from Troutdale or Camas is the Columbia Gorge which limits the amount of land available but there are some small towns.

N and E of Vancouver would be your best bet.
