Ah well. It's still not as bad as Winnipeg, which will go down to -17 (not including windchill) on Saturday. When it's 25 degrees there during the winter, people wear shorts.

I kinda wish it'd stick so I could get some awesome photos for my Christmas cards (of my dog, not me, hehe).

I love my puffy coat. So soft, so warm. Embrace the puffy, psichick!

Kinda OT, but not.

So, I had bought this jacket when it went on sale. I liked that it was not so bulky, but still had 800 fill power down. I figured, that should keep me warm.

Well, maybe it's the wind, but I noticed it still gets cold still. It's almost like the material on the inside is cold. The only way I don't feel that way is when I layer another jacket over it (typically, I've been using a second lightweight down jacket).

Looks like I'll have to layer my puffy jacket, or buy an even puffier one...which I really don't want to do. I don't like looking like the Michelin Man.

Thankfully, it looks like December is the coldest part of winter. I just need to survive until January.
It sounds like you have very poor insulation in your apartment/house. You are probably getting chilled indoors and that's why you can't hold heat once you go out in your lovely Omniheat coat. My advice to you

1) Go to Fred Meyer and buy clear heavy plastic sheeting and the special tape next to it. It'll be in their winterization section. Cover all of your windows and sliding glass doors out to the wall. Buy that narrow foam insulation if you have any gaps around your doors to seal up there too. I did this when I was in the draftiest apartment ever and it made a massive difference. You can also buy thermal curtains for your windows - they are good too.

2) As other have said wear a hat. Even tights under jeans help if you don't have long underwear. Do exercise to build up heat. Oh and spicy food, eating that is good too.
