Aloha,

One thing i found about portland that is pretty cool is its universities also keep the Aloha spirit going. Most colleges have a Hawai'i or polynesian club, everyone usually puts on events like a Lau'u to spread Aloha and raise funds for there clubs. Some are more touristy then traditional, some are really good. So if your in the mood?

3/15/2014, 5:30pm, Hawaii Club 5th Annual Luau, Concordia University Gym. 3/ 15/2014, 9:30pm, 7900 NE 33rd Dr, Portland, OR 97211. 4/18/2014, 3pm*...

Contact school for tickets.

Heres a preview from last years event.

I have never been to Concordia Universities annual Lua’u, but this will be there 5th lua'u. If anyone goes let me know how it was? Mahalo

Please feel free to post events, reviews on Hawai'an grindz(food) places etc.

Aloha Howzit?

Ok just a gentle reminder that on March 13th, Hapa will be playing at the Aladdin Theater in Portland.

Tickets are cheap $31 if paying cash. There are tickets left but going fast. if you need more info? Here you go.

Also i sometimes forget that im middle aged so the things i love or like or known may not be known by younger people. So if you don't know who HAPA is? They were very big in the 90s in Hawai'i and japan. There sound is unique and great. Here i will let you be the judge.

Anyway May Day is Lei day in Hawai'i, One of there popular festivals in Hawai'i. But just because we dont live at Home anymore doesn't mean we can''t celebrate it.

Just got back, the HAPA concert was just awsome. They even stayed late to play some extra songs. Maybe well get lucky and they will play an encore concert like they did last year. I hope some of you made it and enjoyed them. I think i will now be in a great mood for along time.
