by light rail what? Portland's light rail system is still growing and has a long way to go before it handles the majority of the metro. The next line will probably be the SW line, and then I am guessing extending the red line through Beavertron.

Oh I am sure it will, there are a number of stops that are key development locations. OMSI, Clinton, both Brooklyn stops, and of course downtown Milwaukie will see plenty of growth in the future due to that new light rail line.

The Orange Line station at Bybee is also right next to the middle of the "downtown" walkable area of Sellwood, and I think an awful lot of folks more interested in local businesses and local shopping (and perhaps even no car or low car lifestyles) will likely be buying housing there in the future. The convenience of the rail stop could also bring a lot of Reed students over closer to those businesses, rather than sticking to campus or Woodstock.

Know what Woody Guthrie said about Portland clear back in the 1930s?That was about 80 years ago.

Too bad some things never change.
I agree with woodie! I personally would like a little cali vibe; lived in sf for 26 years and came back so I could retire with some money in my pocket, but oh how I miss SF and the bay area in general; Portland is just a little stuffy for me, but I've learned to be grateful for what I have and I stay in my house and away from people. pdx has a hillbilly/redneck vibe that i'm not particularly into, but since I don't have to mix with the folks i'm doing ok; I've turned into a 66 yo recluse, but so what!

I live in Hillsboro, have a rifle, and love living out in the countryside. I assume you would label me as a hillbilly/redneck. But what you are not able to grasp is that your intended insult is actually a compliment.
