1. Rent is too damn high. (Although, it has worked in my favor)

2. The traffic has gotten worse and worse every year. (I'm numb to it now)

3. The weather has turned of dryer and warmer than I have seen in a long time. ( although this month has been pretty normal)

4. I'm seeing a lot more foreign license plates. Many are from south of the border. The Republic of Texas.

I think the main thing that's changed is that it's become quite expensive.

indeed it has

For most of my life Portland was known as a bargain for housing whether it be owning or renting and the cost of living was cheap as compared to wages__ Welcome to the new age.

Its amazing that we are so popular considering the best thing going for Portland is the single family neighborhoods and the great outdoors which both require cars. I guess people need to feel "hip"? I actually have to scratch my head when I see people paying $1400 or more for a studio apt--what a waste of income. and over time I cant imagine what these tiny apts smell like=holy moly. I once did a wall paper job at Ione Plaza -man the hallways stunk, and that place was high rent back in the day.

That's all Portland has going for it, single family neighborhoods and the great outdoors? You must not get out much in Portland because their is a lot to do within the city, and it is a great place to experience on bike which would mean one doesn't need a car at all times.

And $1400 for a new apartment sounds right, new buildings aren't cheap to build.

That makes sense, for you, Portland might not be the right place to be in anymore, maybe it is time to seek out a place that better interests you if Portland no longer does. It makes no sense living where you are unhappy, we only live once.
