Default Attention Environmentalists: I need honest answers.

Ok, so I have a question.

What do you know about RECENT pollution levels in the soil, water, and air in Oregon? Apparently there is no requirement to make some of this info public knowledge??

I desparately want to move to Oregon, but I want to make sure I move to an area where I can plant organic vegetables and fruit, and feel confident that they are actually healthy in the soil and watered heavymetal-free water

I read conflicting stuff online, and so I wanted to see if any local environmentalists can send me into the right direction in Oregon and answer some of my questions about those suggested areas.

Thanks a bunch!

Earth: I'm not an environmentalist, but I can tell you that Portland has become a veritable epicenter for organic farming. It has been highlighted over and over again in national publications for its cuisine which is becoming heavily dependent on organics, sustainability and local produce.

That's the extent of my knowledge! Hope this helps to give you at least an idea. Good luck.
