Thumbs up Recommend any good unloaders?

We'll be moving to Portland in a few weeks, and we have a company lined up on this end (Orlando) to help us load the big stuff into our U-Pack trailer. But, this company isn't in Portland.

Can anybody recommend a moving company they used, just for unloading?

Thanks!

If you just need help unloading (especially a UHaul), call the local highschool or a church youth pastor and ask if they know of some kids who'd be willing to work for $30 each.

Thanks so much. I love our little Church in Florida. I'll contact them.

Yes, I think the suggestion above is a great one. But, if you can't find anybody, we went with [b]Two Men & A Truck [/Mod cut). They were nice guys, but only adequate at packing the truck.

They wrapped some things, but not all. And they stacked some things in places I probably wouldn't have (they put our television in the crib with a bunch of other things, and I was concerned it would break the bottom, so I moved it).

After they left, I unpacked the back third of the truck and reloaded it, and cut down a linear foot. It's nothing significant, but we're using U-Pack, and we pay by the linear foot, so saving a foot is saving $209. I kinda wish I had just done all the stacking from the beginning, probably could have saved a couple more feet.

On the positive side, they were pretty quick, very friendly/professional, and they didn't make any marks on the walls or carpets. The price was fair also.

I can post again once we get there (we're on the road now) and let you know if anything they stacked broke or fell over.

Hope this helps...
Ryan

Keep me posted. We had thought of gettinga POD but we're not sure about loading it. Can't seem to decide between uhaul, pod or a CHEAP mover. We're concerned about driving the UHAUL but that may be what we have to do. THANK YOU for the recommendation on 2 men (I remember that name from living in Orlando before). Have a SAFE journey.
Thanks
