A few years ago you could catch a Greyhound owned bus from Portland to Lincoln City for $40 round trip roughly.

When I go to Greyhound's website, there's no longer and option for Lincoln City.

Does anyone know if there's still a bus from Portland to Lincoln City and can you link me any info? I'm okay transferring once or twice but I'd rather not transfer more than twice.

Any info you can provide would be ideal.

No, I wont take a cab or Lyft or whatever the other ripoff taxi service is called.

You can use this airport shuttle service, which also has a downtown stop, for about $41 each way.

Shuttle Schedule

As you suggested, any sort of taxi or Uber or Lyft will be much more expensive, but I think it's very unfair to call it a "ripoff". They are a service that people can choose to use or not. I think we should mostly all be grateful that they exist for the options that they provide. Prior to their existence, if you needed a taxi and weren't in a VERY congested area, it would take forever to get one to come to you and the reliability was suspect to say the least.

Thanks for the link. That's more than double what it cost a few years ago. I'll keep it in mind though.

Lyft and all those other services are ripoffs but that's my opinion. The rates they charge are ridiculous. Then they have the nerve to ask for a tip. No thanks.

There are ride share sites out there if you feel safe enough going that route.

Personally I think uber is a screaming deal for door to door service, the only other option before uber and lyft got here were cabs that were $20 minimum

Yes there is a mini/micro bus service. Fairly inexpensive.
Google it.
Call Salem's Transit Cherriot office, they have particulars.
Salem's Amtrak has printed schedules in their kiosk. You may try Portland's Amtrak kiosk.

I would "Google it" if I knew the name of the service. That's kind of the point of my whole post.

There's the Valley Retriever running between Portland and Newport via Corvallis; from Newport you can take the Lincoln County local bus up to Lincoln City.

VR Schedule Corvallis Greyhound
