Default Lighten Up!

I know it's been a long winter, but would prefer to hear about Portland's attributes, not the fact that it occasionaly rains.
Let me hear about the best clubs, best parks, best time to go to the Japanese Gardens, the gorge.
Please include coastline hotspots and mountain hideaways.

Thank you.

Sorry I don't know about the clubs anymore, its been a long time since I've been to them. They weren't all that outstanding awhile back. Things may have changed though. I started to go to more tavern type places towards the end of my clubbing days. If I recall all the gardens are good in the spring, flowers are blooming. Very pretty. The gorge in my opinion is best in the summer. For me its too cool and windy in the spring. Seaside is near and kind of touristy, but can be fun. Cannon Beach is nice. Farther down you have Lincoln City and it has some shops, an outlet mall and a casino. There are some other casinos on the coast. I don't remember where, but if your into that you can google and find out.

I can't remember any of the mountain places names. lol. I never thought about it we just went where we went. Oh well. Others will chime in I'm sure.

Thanks nillwafer.
Was hoping to hear more from a larger group. Seemed to me these forums were getting way too much exposure towards the negative and was hoping to start dialogue in another direction.
Deegers started a sailing thread which I would love to hear more about.
Any sailboat marinas on the Willamette or are they all on the Columbia?
Anybody with experience sailing the Columbia?
Thanks.
