that makes more sense. So, it doesn't have that...huge tree canopy over the street down a long line of old archetechurally beautiful homes with white picket fences...type of coziness? Do you think they have the same kind of cute homes like you would find in Wheaton/Glen Ellyn/Geneva? Homes with brick, stone and siding on their homes giving that old world feel? Do they have places that look like the inside of an irish pub like Shannon's in Main Street, GLen Ellyn? Dark woods and brick like the inside of PotBelly? (I miss PotBelly, almost as much as I miss Portillos! Luckily, for me, Mr. Portillo decided to build one in So.CAl and now is thinking of venturing to other places. Maybe Portland someday, eh?)

![]() Anyways, Yeah, I'd suppose that Portland has some pretty neat architecture. They have their own unique type of architecture out there. I don't know what it's called, but it's pretty interesting. I think that for the most part, the historical homes are little bungalows. Now days, though, developers are somehow fitting 5 homes on a single lot, which is pretty sad to see they type of yards these people have to live with. |

You have given me a lot of insight expecially since you can compare it to things that I am familiar with back home. It is so nice to know someone who understand what Glen Ellyn/Wheaton/Geneva looks like. Those are the towns I was planning on living in if I moved back to Chicago at one time.

I'm talking to two places right now one in Downtown Chicago and one in Hillsboro. So, this is an interesting thread to come across. I may post more specifics later once I move to the next step with the Hillsboro folks, but for now just want to see if my vision of being happier with the weather situation (I hate winter) is reasonable.
