Default Apartments

I am having trouble looking up apartments for Portland. I know I can find the duplexes and apartments like that. But I am looking to find an apartment personally owned that rents the upper/lower. Is there a website or a local paper for Portland that I check out online to find them? I tried searching and nothing came up. Thanks!

Apartments like you describe are no different from the bigger complexes, they all use Craigslist. You just have to look harder to spot them. Also the usual papers or their websites but wait till you are actually IN Portland to try to follow up newspaper ads.

The options for duplex type styles you're used to in B-lo aren't really as available here. Though there are some, and as Leisesturm said, craigslist is a good place to look, but you will find much more just cruisin' thru a neighborhood, as many folks that have them will do the old fashioned sign in front of the house gig, and they tend to rent fast. The newspaper that's like Artvoice here is called the Willamette Week... though they don't have much in the ways of rentals listed.
