Seven of Nine, Youve brought tears to my eyes....... We used to live in Tigard/Metzger and Yans was our all time FAVORITE place to eat. The first time we went there, I was thinking "Ugh, its gonna be kinda lame here" boy did i change my tune!!! What I wouldnt give for a bowl of their egg flower soup....nobody makes it quite like them.....sigh.....
BTW, i used to live in Metzger right across the street from the park, I think the Apt. were called Conastoga or something like that (could be wrong, early 20s, many apartments! lol) anyhow, we typically used Tigard on the outgoing mail, but as long as the zip was on , no issues. Never had any probs either way.
Good luck, eat at Yans! lol

There is this funny little area that is a little triangle between Portland, Tigard, and Beaverton.
Many businesses use Portland as their city when using the 97223 zip code. Most people that are not from here understand where Portland is much better than Tigard (which is pronounced like Tiger with a d by the way.) Businesses have a much more important reason to call it Portland.
Many residents use Tigard as their city when using the 97223 zip code. Although either one works with the post office ask yourself 2 questions. Are you in Multnomah County or Washington County? If Washington then you should use Tigard. Do you pay the City of Portland Tri-Met Tax? No? Oh...then you are Tigard, not Portland.
Here is the cache about this funny little area....from what I understand there is a small stretch of Portland that is in Washington County in the Garden Home/Raleigh Hills area (which has a different zip code than yours- 97225 I think)....so what happens when there is a police situation? Well, many times City of Portland, City of Beaverton, and County of Washington argue out the jurisdiction. So have fun with that one. I am sure though if crime is committed the culprit is sitting in the back of the police car while they try to figure out which jail to take 'em to. One won't get away with anything just because the police don't know what city they are in!
Now, if I were living in the Metzger area I would use Tigard as I don't see what the big deal is about not being associated with that city. I would much rather live in Tigard than pay a Tri Met tax in Portland. But then again... I live in that wonderful triangle and my city is Beaverton. Go figure.
PS: The Metzger Schools are in the Tigard School District.

Yes the same nice family has been there as long as we traveled to eat there, over 15 years, they always asked about my kids, I think we had many b-day parties there because of the tables on the upper part with the lazy susans! Its good food at good prices, when I visit I always stop by Great to hear from another loyal patron.

No worry, the force in Tigard was always in my experience professional and right on the spot. Jim Wolf was the chief then, and they had a black vw bug with only room for one or two bubble lights on top that they would take around to neighborhoods for the kids to see. I have seen Tigard, Tualatin, and Beaverton, police work in tandem. Great Force all around.
