I like Scholls Ferry Road--I think it's a fairly decent area, in general. I've only been to that particular Providence clinic one time, but I recall it being pretty nice too. SFR pretty much connects directly to the north end of Washington Square Mall (if that's what you mean by "the mall") and is, I'd say, about a 5-minute drive from the clinic.

Hope that helps.

no one special is on a distinguished road
I live on the corner of Scholls Ferry road on a neighborhood street. Scholls Ferry Rd is a great place to be. I lived on the other side of it a couple blocks away prior to where I am now so I have been in this area for 7 years now.

Scholls Ferry Rd has terrible traffic. But it has its own little mall. If you are in Tigard on Scholls Ferry road I can only assume you are West of Highway 217 (which is more like a freeway but not state to state.) The big huge gigantic look at me I am a shopper mall is just on the other side of that highway. Whereever you live off Scholls Ferry you will be within minutes of a major mall called Washington Square.

This neighborhood is the safest, cleanest, and most courteous neighborhood I have ever lived in. (And I have lived all over the Metro area.) But it is the worst traffic I have ever lived near as well. Anytime Hwy 217 has a problem the traffic ends up on Scholls Ferry. It is its worst during Christmas....often times I wish to stand out front of my place with a sign reminding shoppers Christmas is not about going to the mall...but they would most likely just splash me driving through a puddle or something! It is very bad traffic around Christmas. And during the 1st week of school. There are many schools along Scholls Ferry and the rucus of people getting the kids there can be a big joke.

Beaverton and Tigard stop lights are not synchronized. If you stop at one you will stop at them all. But...as stated- it is the cleanest and the safest place I have lived yet. Not once have I had one problem around here with a car getting broken into or anything. Knock on wood.

The area you have chosen is nice, but don't get lost in the neighborhoods. Most of them will drive you in circles or dead end. Just stick with the main roads- there are very few shortcuts through Tigard.

The clinic you speak of is just fine. My grandfather had Alzheimer's and was a very frequent patient there. They were always very loving and caring with him. Providence is a great hospital/doctor company. The one on Scholls Ferry Rd lives up to its reputation.

Also, make sure you get familiar with Hall Blvd as a cross street with Scholls Ferry north of the clinic and the mall- lots of shopping there too which has stretched the mall even further, I suppose! They also just put in a Dutch Brothers coffee which is far better than Starbucks in my opinion. There are also other cross streets such as Cascade that has lots and lots of shopping.
