Default Soon-to-be-teacher looking for a job

Greetings from the East Coast. I'm a grad student in Southern Maryland working on getting my Masters degree and teacher certification. When I graduate in the Spring, I'm looking for an entirely new change of scenery and I was thinking of heading to Portland. My question to you all is fairly generic.

What can you tell me about Portland area public high schools? What areas need teachers the most? Are there schools any of you can recommend I apply look into? Schools I should stay away from? Most importantly, can any of you tell me if it will be feasible to expect to find a job as a first-year High School English teacher?

Any help would be much appreciated.
