Is it really true that Oregonians hate Californians? (Bend: house, living in)

I am a 4th generation Oregonian and I want a continued, massive influx of educated, well-to-do, well-heeled, and diverse Californians migrating up here. It's great for the economy and, as long as they learn how to drive in the rain and appreciate the long rainy season, it's great for the overall well-being of everyone here.

That being said... if you drive like an idiot, whine constantly about the rain, and wear your Kobe jersey at the Rose Garden, occasionally you will get the finger --- it's not because you are from California, it's because you are annoying.

DH and I each drove around the Portland/Vancouver for 5 months (no permanent address, so couldn't register the cars) with CA plates, and neither of us experienced any 'hatrid' towards us or our vehicles.

Good to hear that thirtysomething. I think the negative butthead remarks/attitude only happen on rare occasion to some people....so many that ive spoken with about this have laughed when I asked if they have experienced this prejudice simply from where they hail from. nada...niltch...nothin of the sort....thats always good to hear...

I think this post is hilarious! As a 50 something native Oregonian that moved to SoCal in my teens and then bought a second home back in Portland, I have not experienced any anti California attitude at all. For those that scream that Californians move to Oregon and buy up homes with all their equity and drive prices up......GET A CLUE! California home prices have fallen 41% statewide so all that equity has mostly vanished! I have 3 good friends that have moved to Portland in the last 4 months from SoCal and have Cali plates on their cars and have had nothing anti California screamed or gestured to them at all.

To make a statement that ALL Oregonians hate ALL Californians is ludicrous!

So, just out of curiosity, if I were a Republican, what type of terrorists would make me feel more at home? Alternatively, where might I look to find that better class of McCain loving terrorists?

a more accurate statement would be, the one thing americans can't stand is other americans.
