Stuff like that.

Notice, though, that the greedy sellers are all to happy to take whatever they can sell their homes for, instead of asking 100K less so that housing will be more affordable.

My inlaws moved from Southern Cal to Medford, OR and Love it. Of course, one could argue their reasoning, but to each their own.

Except they're probably originally Californians themselves... Or Easterners...

It is people from Oregon who made up the slogan "Please don't Californicate us"
Of course, that is not everyone. Anyone who believes that is stupid. But unfortunately it is the anti CA people who are loud and active while everyone sits back and does nothing then takes offense at their reputation.
I think Oregan is a cool and interesting place and I have visited several times, however, I frankly have to tell you that I have never been treated as well as in WA.
By the way, I live in WA now.

Yukiko, I wonder if you misunderstood this. It isn't that no one will give you a job because you are from California, it's there are no jobs to be given even the folks who already live here.
I come from Chicago to which a lot of people move from smaller cities in the Midwest and from Southern Towns. I never heard any native Chicagoan diss anyone just because they were from another city. This extreme prejudice was new to me when I moved here.
I never did understand the "Don't Californicate" thing. It is silly. I have native Oregonian friends who still say this long after the phrase should have been put to rest.

I still hear the whole "Don't Californicate" phrase from friends who are originally from other western states like Idaho and Utah in reference to Californians invading their home states. Ironically, all these friends are transplants to Portland themselves.

Yeah, I bet the Native Americans were complaining about white folks "ruining" Oregon long before Californians were moving there.

Just be a misanthrope, you can distrust humanity and save the work of finding out where they were from.

After five pages of posts, I still can't seem to find the contributory value in it. Let's move on to more productive topics
