Just off the top of my head, Hartwell's in north Milwaukie (5 minutes from Sellwood area). A lot of vegan dishes-not all; spendy, but exquisite food.
PS: I checked your profile and noticed you're interested in culinary arts...you will love this restaurant.

If I had lived there longer, I'd have more recommendations, but for Chinese food, Vegetarian House.
For dessert, Sweet Pea Baking Company.

Well ... Yelp, my new favorite site for restaurant reviews, recommendations lists 238 in the catergory of Vegan/Vegetarian. That ought to give you some to pick from.

That's a great site, EnricoV. Thanks. Also, there's a vegan restaurant on SE Hawthorne, somewhere between SE 35th Av and SE 33rd Avenue. I think it's Tibetan; it's pretty decent, and affordable, too.

Too bad Veganopolis in the downtown area closed just recently, where vegans didn't have to examine ingredients before ordering. But there are enough veggie spots that vegan fare should be widely available.
On a related plane, Trader Joe's has started labeling some of its offerings with a green V for vegan ... very helpful!

Tao of Tea on Belmont St (SE Portland) has light vegetarian fare and desserts. Along with some very interesting tea blends!

It has "Tibet" in the name and down the street is " Thai Veggie".
