Default What would be considered "East Multnomah County"?

I'm looking at a job posting and the location just says: East Multnomah County (East of 168 Ave.)

Where exactly would this be? Would this be a decent area or a less-desirable one? I was a bit scarred by my drive on E. Burnside between Gresham and Portland... hopefully they're not talking about that area.

Everyone's definition may differ ... so who's to know what the employer meant. I take it to mean anywhere east of the Portland City Limits. It could be Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview, Sandy ... Multnomah County extends east clear out to just before Cascade Locks. So it really could be anywhere.

But you're right ... the area east of I-205 and Gresham does tend to be seedy. Lots of cheaper rentals and apartments. I would guess this would be beyond that.

What kind of business? There's not a lot of industry out that way. That might give us a better idea of where it is apt to be.

It's for Multnomah County government, so it would be one of their offices in that area.

I looked at the Multnomah County website, and really find only a few "offices" out that way. Animal Services is headquartered in Troutdale; Gresham has a district court and has a new Justice Center being built, and then there's something called the John B. Yeon Annex. Just what they do there, I'm not sure. Looks like they have some facilities maintenenace, but it looks to be a big complex.

Because it's kind of in No-Man's land, the address is 1608 SE 190th Avenue, that could be what they're talking about. Otherwise, seems they would have said "Gresham" or "Troutdale" specifically.

Doesn't look too bad of an area. Public transport isn't very close though.
