Default Are Gaston, Banks, North Plains really that different from Forest Grove?

I've had my heart set on Forest Grove. The market is cooling rapidly there so this summer when I'm actually ready to move, the homes I like may be more of a bargain. In looking around, I can see that you can get more house/land for your money in Gaston, etc., I assume because its more out of the way. Are there even the basics like a grocery store, gas stations, etc. or would I need to go to one of the larger towns for that?

Gaston used to have a gas station but it went out of business. There is one "no name" supermarket. There is a tavern and a feedstore but that's about it. There's some beautiful property outside of Gaston but the town itself doesn't do to much for me.

North Plains seems kind of bland but it has more then Gaston.

IMHO Banks is the best little town of the 3 you mentioned as alternates to FG.

North Plains is a town that has been battling frustratingly to avoid growth. Developers want to build there and the citizens fight it with resounding "NO!" There is an issue with adequate emergency services. There's gas stations at the Hwy 26 interchange but "stores" aren't exactly plentiful; however, it is very close proximity to Hillsboro to get whatever you need. Of these towns I would recommend North Plains.
