They had both types you mentioned. My mother suggested the cable chains figured they would be safer. She has used snow chains on her car before so she knowes about it, that's why she is picking them up. Im not too sure about the size though ....IM GOING TO CALL HER ASAP! thanks!

Aw boy! That's fantastic news! Now as PNW-type-gal Suggested i am going to make sure the size of them is correct. I didnt think about that!

I have made this trip 15-18 hours is about right. I have also driven cross country 5 times. GET THE CHAINS it is better to have them than not. I got mine at Les Schwab if you didn't use them you could return them after the season was over. Good Luck

I bought a set for $10 LOL i think i'll keep them because either way..they were so freakin cheap!
