I would also recommend paying it unfortunately, or if you have a friend in Portland, maybe they can take pictures and send them to you. Then you have a chance to argue your case more.

Also, not paying tickets can hurt in the long run potentionally in ways I'm not sure about exactly. One time they showed a person on a Real Life MTV show of "I want to be a Model" and one of the guys could not be a model because of not paying many ticket fines. He was applying for a passport and was rejected as a result. It is not worth the risk to leave things hanging. Solve the case one way or another!

I got out of mine by having my lawyer come to court with me. I pay $36/month for legal insurance (it's really popular, and mandatory in Europe, but not as common here) and have used it at least once a year for the past few years. In my opinion, lawyers are the only people that can get you out of stuff like this, the are the perfect antidote for power-hungry types... See www.BigIdeaPDX.info for the service I use.
