I just got two tickets in the mail for $181.00 ea. and I'm pissed!

I drive to Flagstaff or Prescott two times a year and every year I do
65 through phoenix. I am a very aware driver. i don't look at billboards
I don't look away from the road. I watch other cars and the road - Period.
Being from a small town i am not used to driving on those freakin' monster highways in PHX.

Why not just look in my bank account and fine me seven, eight or
nine times? - For the same crime! You can't be charged with the same
crime twice! This is UnConstitutional!

You know is it a sheer money grab because they aren't
pointing points on our license. Give it a few years
and they will include points on our license.

People on this board have tried to think of ways to fight this.
And there is a way to fight this. Petition the courts asking them to allow
us to make our plea's to the judge with internet video conferencing.
Something like a higher level YouTube. (Does anyone know if
a more professional YouTube exists? One that is all certified
n stuff?)

And we can protest electronically - by vid cammin' our plea's and
sending them to the courts email addresses. And not only send
emails to the courts but to the Newspapers too - Reporter
email address and might as well send them to community colleges
and university emails.

Email goes something like this:

i can't make it to the court date to make my plea in person,
(i have to work overtime to make enough money to pay the $360
ticket.) Therefore i've attached this video of my plea. Please
forward it to the judge on my day and appointment as follows
DATE/TIME.

Two tickets within six minutes of each other! If we lay down
now you know what will happen in a couple of years!

It is a moneymaking scheme the government is trying to
pull on us! They grab our money to fill their pockets during
a time of economic depression!
The worst since the great depression! Taking money from
the poor! According to them this will make
us commit more crimes! And make them even more money!

One ticket sure. No problem. I wouldn't have blinked an eye.
But two tickets!! in six minutes! What's next - team up with the
insurance companies to put points on our licenses?

I will say if you are remorseful and genuine they will likely take pity on you, I disagree with many here by saying the police in Portland, to me at least, seem more interested in public safety than just collecting fines.
Not talking just directly to you since you obviously paid your dues, but a yellow light doesn't mean go faster... It means stop if it's safe to do so because the light is going to turn red.

But to the OP... I have to echo what the other folks are saying. Let your friend deal with the situation since they were the one driving and (possibly or possibly not) speeding.

Here's your answer: Photo Radar Q&A Q: What if I was not driving my car? A: If you are the registered owner of the car, and someone else was driving your car, you are required to fill out a Certificate of Innocence and mail it along with a legible photocopy of the front and back your driver's license in the envelope provided. The ticket will be dismissed if all required information is provided on the Certificate of Innocence. However, if driver's license photo matches violation photo, citation will be re-issued.

If you are photo-ticketed in a "driver responsible" state, like Oregon, California, Washington, Colorado, you can tell he court you are not the driver. Oregon allows you to send in a certificate of innocence to the court, as Lemonbutter wrote. The court can look at your picture and issue another summons if they think it is really you driving. For a private vehicle you do not have to tell them who was driving if it wasn't you. If the vehicle is owned by a business or public agency you must pay the ticket or tell them who the actual driver was so they can go after him/her. There is an e-book written by H. Noone that goes into greater detail. go to www.slyingtheeye.com

Keep in mind that the basic rule of the road is to drive in a safe and responsible manner. Just because someone is "speeding" or driving faster than the posted sign, does not mean they are being unsafe. It is a rebuttable presumption. speeders have gone to court and contested this. We've all been on a highway in a group of cars on a sunny, dry day, all exceeding the limit by ten miles an hour and technically speeding and felt perfectly in control and safe. We may be speeding because the limits cannot possibly cover all cars and all instances. Many factors contribute to driving safely: Tires, brakes, road surface, weather, type of car, traffic, etc. . And we all know roads were the limits are set too low, for revenue reasons. You speed and are a lawbreaker, but not of the basic rule, and you are not a bad person and you are not going to hell.

Hold on folks , the easiest way to defend the red light ticket is just simply demand a Verified Complaint on the Ticket ( a notice to appear in most States), you do know that the camera's are operated by a private co. ??? and that your constitutional right is to be able to FACE YOUR ACCUSER!. Answer one thing for me how did you injure the camera ?. Well 2 things , when was the last time you saw a camera in court talking to you and answering you're questions ? End of caseyou will win every time.

The red light camera or speed camera just provides photographic evidence of a possible violation. The evidence is then scrutinized by a police officer who determines that there really was a violation committed and becomes the complaintant. He comes to court ready to testify that the equipment was functioning and to his expertise. He is your accuser.

There is a site for Arizona where you can upload your photo from the photo radar ticket and if you get the most votes in a month they will pay your ticket. You can keep uploading your photo each month until you win. snapthisaz.com
