Any films out there shot in Portland?
I just finished Gus Van Sant's film Paranoid Park. Also saw Wendy and Lucy recently as well. Was wondering if any other films out there that are shot in Portland that are worth watching?

I have really wanted to see Wendy and Lucy. It looked really good. Feast of Love is one that I, personally, am fond of. Unfortunately it seems most movies filmed in Oregon aren't really worth watching. They focus too much on Oregon it seems at the expense of the plot and character development ( Untraceable, Mr. Brooks which was just okay).

This is the official Oregon film history. It tells you where the films were filmed and you can look into the individual movies on imdb to get an idea of whether they're worth checking out or not.

I didn't realize Mr. Brooks was filmed in Portland. I thought Mr. Brooks was quite good, actually!

so was "Drugstore Cowboy" (another Van Sant film). The pharmacy they rob is at Glisan and NW 21st (now a converted sports bar). The apartment complex they stay at, "Josephine" is located somewhere in NW, on Irving St. The place Dillon stays at towards the end of the film is somewhere in the Pearl (on Everett St, I think).
As for "My Own Private Idaho", the abandoned Hotel is the "Governer Hotel", now restored in downtown. There is a scene beneath the St John's bridge in Cathedral Park. Some of it is filmed in the central Oregon town of Maupin, (the 'Idaho' scenes). I don't remember anything from NW Portland in that film, but it's possible. Both films feature the city of pdx prominently.

Yeah, I thought it was better than average. I'd watch it again, for sure. It was filmed quite a bit in Portland, but also in Louisiana (random... Shreveport I believe, but can't remember).

They filmed at the intersection of NW Cornell Road and Westover. I know because the make-up trailer was parked in front of my former home at 3075 NW Cornell Road. My daughter, then a teen, was thrilled.

Gus Van Sant's first film, Mala Noche, along with his more recent Elephant were also shot in Portland (along with his many other films people have already mentioned).
And who can forget the more than slightly terrible "The Hunted" with Tommy Lee Jones and Benico Del Toro? That one was great fun to watch in a Portland theater, just to hear all of the guffaws from the audience at seeing things like the MAX run across the Hawthorne Bridge. Plus there's a Jeff Gianola cameo!
