Need help planning my route to work..help me fellow Oregonians! :)
Ok so I just got a job in Downtown Portland.
I live near Wilsonville, Oregon.
I really would like to not have to spend a lot of money on gas and parking...I looked at the Max and WES train but it seems like it might be more spendy..I even thought of driving to Beaverton and catching the Max there...
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated....I will be working 5 days a week....money is extremely tight so I need to figure out a way to save myself some money....again..any input is appreciated. Thanks!

There's a bus/transit in Wilsonville that will take you directly to the Barbur Transit center in Portland. From there you can take a bus directly into downtown.

Another option would be to car pool. Call your local transit agency or contract TriMet to see if they have any commuter matching programs.

both two very good ideas! i've been researching prices...it may almost be cheaper to pay for monthly parking and park downtown...

By purchasing an annual Tri-Met pass, it's as low as $78 a month for 3-zone travel.
A 2005 article regarding parking rates stated that unreserved downtown parking in Portland will run about $137. and reserved parking $165. Not including gas.

Personally I would not want to deal with I-5 traffic every day and I would choose WES but that's just me.

ok so i researched a little more...it's gonna be about 170 per month for me to take wes to beaverton then max to portland...i'd say thats much better than gas, parking, and i-5 traffic...only downside is WES only runs on the weekdays...and I work weekend also
Enrico you mentioned 3 zone travel? I'm a complete noob to riding wes and max...any idea what zones I would even need all 3 zones? thanks again guys for your help..it's greatly appreciated.

From what Tri-Met says, WES is included in their All-Zone fare.
But if you're buying a pass for only 7 days at a time, you will pay more. The longer pass you buy, the cheaper it will be. As I said, an annual pass is $78 a month. If you buy it monthly, it's $86.
